Hunter Law Group, P.A. is a full-service real estate-focused law firm in Prairie Village, Kansas.

  • We are currently seeking an experienced litigation attorney to join our dynamic team.  As a key member of our real estate litigation team, the attorney will be responsible for managing a diverse caseload.     Responsibilities:

    • Manage assignments and deadlines of cases competently, including court-ordered deadlines and hearing dates.
      • Research of legal issues as assigned.     
      • Review and draft legal pleadings
    • Communicate professionally to clients, courts, and other counsel.
      • Prepare discovery requests and responses.
      • Working with clients to secure necessary information and documents related to the discovery.
      • Prepare motions.
    • Prepare for depositions and trials.
      • Review deposition transcripts with a critical eye and summarize the same.
      • Prepare for all facets of trials when necessary.
      • Appear in Court as needed.
    • Maintain strict confidentiality of client information.

        Requirements:

        • Experience
          • At least 5 years in general litigation.
          • Experience with real estate transactions, mechanics’ liens, construction, tax appeals, and/or land use is a plus.
        • Relationships
          • Be comfortable managing clients that are in conflict.
          • Be able to effectively advise clients while maintaining the firm’s relationship with that client.
          • Have a genuine interest in the facts and stories of clients.
        • Skills
          • Proficiency with Adobe and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Outlook and Word.
          • Familiarity with billable hours and case management software. Experience with Clio is a plus.
          • Strong oral and written communication skills.
          • Must be able to effectively multi-task.
        • Must be licensed in Kansas and Missouri.  Pay will be commensurate with experience.  Supplemental merit-based bonuses are available on a rolling quarterly basis.  Benefits include health insurance, retirement savings, and free parking.  Flexible and collaborative work environment.  Potential for advancement within our firm.  Meaningful work for our clients.
