Paralegal

Hunter Law Group is looking for a full-time paralegal to join our team! We are a small real estate law firm with a friendly culture, dedicated to providing responsive, solutions-oriented legal services to our clients.

Position Overview:

You’ll provide support to a dynamic team of collaborative lawyers at our Prairie Village office. This role will support attorneys handling a wide range of matters, including both litigated cases and transactional matters. The successful candidate will be a team player with a strong work ethic.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two years paralegal experience in a private law firm setting.
  • Strong knowledge of Missouri and Kansas court rules, procedures and filing requirements.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in keeping time for client billing.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Adobe and Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Discretion to maintain the client confidence.
  • Familiarity with real estate contracts and closings is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Clio Grow and Clio Manage is a plus.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Managing and organizing case files, including electronic documents and physical documents such as deeds, contracts, and easements.
  • Ensuring court-imposed and contractual deadlines are appropriately calendared and assisting attorneys in meeting deadlines.
  • Proofreading letters, pleadings, motions, and contracts.
  • Assist attorneys with all phases of the litigation process including but not limited to basic drafting, coordinating discovery, labeling and organizing document productions, assisting with hearing and trial preparation, including exhibit preparation and courtroom logistics.
  • Ensuring court-imposed and contractual deadlines are appropriately calendared and assisting attorneys in meeting deadlines.
  • Proofreading letters, pleadings, motions, and contracts.
  • Participating in weekly open matters meetings with all staff, including attorneys.
  • Providing back-up for administrative assistant, including answering phones.
